The Lismore Workers Masters Games is back this year for the first time since 2019. To register, please click here.

The games will take place from 22-24 September and will feature 13 sports including baseball, cricket, fitness challenge, football, five-a-side, golf, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, OZTAG, mini-games, softball and pickleball.

The biennial event was started in 1999 and has become a popular fixture on the sporting calendar for mature-aged athletes from across New South Wales and Queensland. 

Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said he is looking forward to seeing over 1000 competitors in town for this year’s games.

“I would like to thank the Lismore Workers Club for once again coming on board as the major sponsor of the event. The Workers Club has been the major sponsor of the Lismore Masters Games every year since the games were first created in 1999. This is an incredible commitment to Lismore and it is great to see such an iconic Lismore event return to the city.”

The games have a reputation for being a great social occasion, with many participants and their supporters taking the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones. 

This year's games are set to build on this reputation with an exciting program of events and activities including a free ticket to the Lismore Cup on Thursday, 21 September.

Lawn Bowls is one of those precision sports, a bit like golf, where a day can go peachy or a little over the trees! It seems simple in theory with the aim to roll the bowl closest to the ‘jack or kitty’ but it is more challenging that it seems. That's why our devoted lawn bowlers at the Masters Games love their sport and especially dread the dreaded “ditch”. You never want your bowl to go in the ditch!

Our Masters Games Lawn Bowls event is perfect for competitors who enjoy a short, sharp version of sport that has a social and teamwork aspect involved.

Games will commence on Friday 22 September with three rounds of six ends, continue Saturday 23 September with two rounds of thirteen ends and on Sunday 24 September, bowlers will complete the weekend with one round of twenty-one ends. Teamwork is the name of the game with competitors playing in pairs and multi-dress is encouraged on both days.

Lawn bowls is great for people who want to get out of their comfort zone and have a go. Register now!

The Games Centre will be located at the Gordon Pavilion, Oakes Oval, corner of Dawson and Magellan Street Lismore.

All registrations and other games matters will be administered from this location as of Wednesday 20^th September 2023 at 5pm until Sunday 24^th September, 2023 at 5pm.

Check in/Registration Procedure

All competitors must check-in personally at the Games Centre. On completion of registration documents all competitors will receive their sports information package and identification (Photo ID may be required). Your Masters ID Card will be your ticket to official games functions, venues and events.

Thursday 21 September The Lismore Cup will be held on Thursday 21st September, and you will all find a ticket in your goodies bag.

Your ticket includes entry into the venue plus admission to the After the Last Party with Billy Gudgeon Band entertaining you all. Courtesy buses will be running on the day. Why not dress up in your best and have a great day out with your mates.

Friday Night 22 September This year’s Friday night party will be held at Mary G’s on the corner of Woodlark and Keen Street in Lismore.

The Rochelle Lees Band will be the entertainment for the night which will bring an upbeat show that will get everybody on their feet. The meal vouchers can be used at this function. Remember you must be registered as a competitor or social registration to attend.

Saturday Night 23 September The following sports have arranged specific extra special functions for Saturday night (September 23, 2023). These are not necessarily included in the Games Fee. Other sports may have also arranged a function, please contact the relevant convenor for details.

At the East Lismore Bowling Club, there will be Dinner & live entertainment for players and friends.

Football (Soccer)

Goonellabah Football (Soccer) Club will hold a pay as you go meal with only one sitting. The first 120 to book will be catered for. The club will also be open Friday night with Bistro and meat raffles as per normal.
